One of the things I love most about Montreal is that it has a thriving art community. Here, it’s common practice to see outdoor art exhibits, murals and poetry written on the sidewalks in the summertime. Recently I was shopping downtown at the huge Eaton Center when I came across an art exhibit made entirely of recycled bottles, toilet paper rolls and cans. All combined and manipulated, the artist created a nature scene in the middle of the mall, complete with pond, frogs, flowers and fireflys. What was so cool about this particular scene was that from afar, you could hardly tell it was made from recycled goods. I enjoyed the display so much I just had to take a few snap shots! So, the next time you’re feeling creative, why not try to create something pretty with items we would usually toss in the trash or recycling bin.
